JENKI

JENKI exists to unlock matcha energy for modern life. Founded in 2020 by husband and wife Otto and Claudia, JENKI started with a simple frustration: London's matcha was bitter, clumpy and poorly made, nothing like the quality they'd tasted in Japan. So they set out to change that; starting with a market stall, then opening the first JENKI bar in Spitalfields in 2021, with a mission to get more people drinking better matcha.

Today, JENKI is Made in Japan, Whisked in London: exceptional matcha, done properly. Sourced directly from Japan, using high grade, first harvest matcha only, every drink is freshly whisked to order right in front of the customer. Serving up a menu of classics, signatures and seasonal specials, all of JENKI’s flavours are created in-house using natural ingredients.

The design of JENKI Soho nods to the Japanese tea fields where JENKI's matcha begins, with natural materials, curved lines and soft, dappled lighting creating a calmer, earthier feel; a step back from the pace of Soho outside. At the heart of the bar is JENKI's whisking station, where every drink is made fresh to order using first harvest matcha sourced directly from Japan, alongside the full menu of iced lattes, matcha classics and seasonal specials. For anyone wanting to stay a while, enclosed booth seating offers quieter spots to sit, work or meet, tucked away from the bustle outside; ideal for a break between meetings, shopping or sightseeing.
